Conscience is the feeling someone gets when they're in a tough situation that distinctively determines right from wrong. I agree with this. I think deep down everyone knows what they should and should not do. Everyone has feelings and have some concern, in one shape or another, about anyone else's feelings.
One situation where Huck's conscience gets the best of him is when he continues to help Jim runaway. Knowing that it is illegal and extremely to help slaves runaway, Huck helps Jim because understands that he is a real person and that its morally right. Another time is when he attempts to tell the duke and king that their victims are onto them and warn them to escape. Even though they are conmen, Huck can't sit back and allow them to be punished and suffer. I agree with these decisions.
I remember a time in my life when I was phased with a moral dilemma and my conscience got the best of me. I was very young. My mother took a couple of my friends and myself to the candy store. One of my friends picked up a treat and hid it in her pocket. I was confused because I was taught that stealing was wrong and unnecessary. My friend tried to get me to steal with her but I refused because I knew it was wrong. I've always made good moral decisions. I don't even litter!
